Perro Chico
Mariana optioned the Perro Chico property, comprising six concessions (549 Ha), in Chile’s III Region, approximately 75 km S of Copiapo. Mariana can acquire a 100% interest in Perro Chico by making staged payments totalling US$205,000, with a final buyout of US$600,000 at the end of the 39 months option period.
Perro Chico includes several minor copper workings and poorly exposed copper-bearing outcrops. The most important targets are Manto Belleza and Carolina. At Manto Belleza, a copper-bearing skarn has been traced over a strike length of about 400m and is at least 5m thick. Rock chip samples gave up to 2.2 g/t gold and 1.8% copper. Carolina is a small hill 2km E of Manto Belleza, with shallow artisanal workings that follow a 10-20m wide shear zone within silicified sedimentary rocks. A four metre long chip sample across the shear zone assayed 1.4 g/t gold and 0.3% copper.
The mineralization at Manto Belleza is skarn-type but shows some IOCG characteristics. Mariana has applied for a some 7,000ha of concessions located within a 10 x 10 km area surrounding Perro Chico. The company will conduct gravity geophysical surveying in the covered area with proposed drilling later in the year if results warrant.
